It's really hard to get to Anaheim by public transit. Here's one way you can get there: Take the Red Line from North Hollywood Station to Union Station. From Union Station, take the MetroLink Orange County Line to Anaheim. From there, your destination is 7.9 miles away. You could possibly try using the OCTA buses (www.octa.bus - also try google.com/transit), but you would have to make a connection to get to your destination. I would recommend driving because your destination is not near any train station

It really all depends on what you want to do. For example, when I go to LA, it's mainly because I used to visit my uncle and when I did, my uncle would ALWAYS take us to theme parks. So our only business in Buena Park and Santa Clarita was just for theme parks.

i would say none of those. I've never been there but i think manhattan beach, hermosa beach, bel air, malibu, places like that are the nicest. if you go to manhattan its a really nice small area in los angeles where if you go to the beach there, there is a pier where you can watch people fish and at the end of the pier there is a place like an aquarium where you can see different kinds of fish. its a small place but its gorgeous. those are my favourite places in los angeles and if you go to hermosa beach there is a big strip where theres ALL KINDS of stores. it was really cool. in bel air we even went to this plaza where they had pet shops, a grocery store, clothing shops, etc., and all the stars went there. it was a really nice experience so if you go to los angeles in my opinion you should go not just to one place because its nice to explore around there.

There are literally hundreds of things to do here in LA. Here is my list of “must sees”. Visit as many as you have time for.: Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. #1 Destination. Universal Studios: A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. #2 Destination. Even if you don’t visit Disneyland or Universal Studios Tour, Downtown Disney District and Universal City Walk are very fun places to visit for shopping and eating. And they’re free to visit. If you’re adventurous, try the indoor skydiving (www.iflyhollywood.com). It’s a blast! Hollywood: Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Chinese Theatre and more. The Hollywood & Highland complex has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater. The El Capitan theater, right across the street, is where Disney shows their movies. And the Hollywood Bowl is a GREAT place to listen to concerts outdoors. Other theme parks include Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain, which are both more geared towards the fast-ride teen crowd. Olvera Street/Union Station: Olvera Street is the birthplace of LA, and it emphasizes our Mexican heritage. In addition to the Avila Adobe (oldest building in LA), you can eat at some pretty good Mexican Restaurants, do a little shopping, and taste a churro. If you don’t want to go to Tijuana, this is as close as it gets without going there Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed with exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all came to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something. Venice Beach: Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore. Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after dark, when it gets a little TOO interesting for my taste. Santa Monica: Beach and Pier: Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that has been in a lot of TV and movies. After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach. Sunset Boulevard began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the ocean, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its way. Farmers Market and The Grove - A new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles landmark, It is right next to CBS, so walk across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage. Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so beautiful that it keeps me fascinated. No matter whether you like their art, architecture, or view better, the Getty is sure to please. Free. Attend a TV taping - You can get free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, tvtix.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It's very interesting to see a show being taped. The most popular, by far, is the Tonight show. Places to eat: In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone. Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. You might even see a celebrity. Maybe. Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. The original location is at Beverly & Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown. Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly & Melrose. Near CBS, you might spot a celebrity. Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station and Olvera Street. Tito’s Taco’s: Voted best tacos in LA, even though it’s in Culver City. King Taco is a good alternate if you can deal with East LA. The Pantry: Corner of Figueroa and 9th, downtown. Huge portions, they never close, GREAT steak and eggs. Medieval Times and/or Pirate’s Dinner Adventure: Dinner and an adventure show, both are on Beach Blvd in Buena Park, you get to eat with your hands. Places to Stay: Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Hollywood Heights (formerly Holiday Inn Walk of Fame), all near Hollywood and Highland. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. There is also a nice place in Burbank called the Best Western Media Center, very close to Warner, NBC, and Universal Studios. Places to Shop: Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica The Grove, Los Angeles Americana @ Brand, Glendale Beverly Center, Los Angeles Citadel Outlets, Commerce Brea Mall, Brea The Block at Orange, Orange South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa Fashion Island, Newport Beach Santee Alley, Los Angeles

How many minutes/hours travel is it from LA to Anaheim?
And what hours and days are usually busy and what hours and days are not?

The driving distance is approximately 40 miles. The driving time is approximately 1 hour, depending on variables such as traffic and weather conditions. Any three-day weekend or holiday will bring massive crowds to Disneyland. Some examples are Labor Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. When schools are out, people take vacations. This includes Summer Vacation (mid-late June/July/ early August), Spring Break, and most schools have some sort of Winter break also. Other Ways To Tell When The Resort Will Be Busy: Disney knows when its parks will be busy. They typically compensate by extending park hours. You can check park hours by calling Disneyland Resort or by checking online at: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disne... (this also shows tentative show schedules and ride refurbishment schedules). Normally the rule of thumb is the more hours the park is open, the more crowded it will be. For example in the middle of summer Disneyland is typically open from 8am-12midnight, and on a Tuesday in January it is typically open from 10am-8pm. Im just guessing your going to Disneyland

2 :
I actually understood this question very well I would say just go for it, what do you have to lose? however, since its in a town where not every kid is playing hockey, I would say your tryout will be very tough. all those junior teams pretty much have the cream of the crop when it comes to young talented hockey players. just give it your all

Anaheim to San Diego is about a 2hr drive depending on traffic. I went with my hubby and children this year and we had a great time. My kids are ages 12, 10 & 5. They loved it. I recommend you do the tour. To get to San Diego all you do is take the 5 Freeway going South. It's very easy. YOu can get exact directions by going to www.mapquest.com
2 :
Take the 5 south about 2 hours from LA, prob. 1 - 1 1/2 hours from Anaheim. SD zoo is pretty nice, and they also have the Wild Animal Park which I haven't seen yet. Sea World is also down there. Tons to do if you have a day to kill.
3 :
Take the 5 fwy from Anaheim to San Diego. Please check their website since after the Wild Fire that happened in SOCAL I think SD Zoo was almost affected that they need to relocate the animals.
4 :
its nice for half a day of walking around... 1and 1/2 hour from anahiem.. south on #5 i think...
5 :
if you are in Los Angeles and wanna visit the san diego Zoo, it is really nice. Its part of balboa park, home to many museums. If you show up on a tuesday lots of museums are open free. Head south on the 5 freeway. It goes straight through san diego. If you end up on the 805 freeway, its ok. It runs parallel to the 5

About What's the youngest age that should travel on their own to Anaheim

What's the youngest age that should travel on their own to Anaheim?
Is it dangerous to take a shuttle to Disneyland from Los Angeles International Airport and stay within the Disneyland area for a week? I just wondered because I wasn't sure if there was a youngest age that it would be safe for.

There isn't enough info to answer your question. Your age, going alone or with somebody? Need more!
2 :
I would not say that taking a shuttle and staying near Disneyland is particularly dangerous, but you are in a very busy metropolitan area. Staying alone, having to take a 2 hour shuttle with strangers, having to leave the hotel to get food, etc. Is not something that I would think anyone under 18 should be doing. Even then, bring a friend, this is no place to be alone for a week. There are just too many crazies in LA.
3 :
Hotels in the Disneyland area do not rent out rooms if no one in the room is over 21. So I guess the answer is 21... It's not a dangerous area so you would be safe at a much younger age. It just would not be feasible.
4 :
I don't know why it would be dangerous. How old are you? Most hotel require you to be over 21 to check in...there's a few that are 18. Younger than that, you definitely have to have an adult with you to check in.

now you are mixing up metrolink (metrolink is a commuter train service servicing southern California) Metro only stays within LA county( with Metro stations they are NOT the same thing you can take Metrolink (like amtrak) to Union station then board a Red line or Purple Line to Vermonter and Wilshire then board a rapid line720 bus to Beverly drive and Wilshire and then its about 1 or 2 blocks from there and I would allow a hour or even 2 hours for traveling remember to hold to your metrolink ticket as its vaild for the connecting transit lines
2 :
To get from Anaheim to Rodeo Drive (over 35 miles), you will need to take OCTA bus 431 to the metrolink/Amtrak station at Angels Stadium. Then take a metrolink or Amtrak train to Union Station in Los Angeles (www.metrolinktrains.com). Then take the Red Line Subway to Wilshire and Western (NOT to North Hollywood), where you can transfer to Metro bus 720 or 920 heading west. You can get off on Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Blvd. Time is about 2 hours. Have fun. ----- Edit: Great minds think alike, right MM?

Of course you can take a taxi cab. Or check out the buses.... www.octa.net and www.mta.net
2 :
Take the Metro link train (Orange County Line) from Anaheim to Union Station downtown, then change to the Metro Link (Antelope Valley or Ventura Line) and get of at Downtown Burbank station. From there you can catch a bus to Warner Bros. Studio. http://www.socalthemeparks.com/la-county-area-transit.html
3 :
You could take either transit buses or commuter rail. To make the trip by bus from Anaheim start by taking MTA bus #460 from Harbor & Katella to Downtown LA exit at 6th & Olive, then take a MTA#96 bus north on Olive Street to Burbank (Warner Bros) Total cost $5 for an unlimited ride all day bus pass +$1.25 for an express zone fare. reverse the route for your return trip. If you prefer to use commuter rail Metrolink trains operate from Anaheim to LA union station then change to another train for the continuation to Burbank. Once in Burbank a local Burbank Bus or MTA #96 can complete the trip to Warner Bros. Total cost for rail about $15 round trip. Good Luck!
